The Association of American Universities has announced that six US research institutions, including the University of South Florida and the University of Miami, have been invited to join the organization. Founded in 1900, the Association of American Universities is composed of America’s leading research universities. USF and UM join the University of Florida as the only Florida institutions among the AAU’s 69 US and two Canadian institutions.
Joining USF and UM are the Arizona State University; the George Washington University; the University of California, Riverside; and the University of Notre Dame.
